Frequently Asked Questions

When should I book my newborn session?

Most families book during their second trimester to ensure availability. Sessions are typically scheduled when baby is between 5–14 days old, since that’s when they’re sleepiest and easiest to pose. However, I happily photograph older newborns too — every stage is beautiful!Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit?

Do you offer in-home sessions or only studio?

Both! As a Raleigh newborn photographer, I offer cozy in-home sessions (where I bring wraps, props, and lighting to you) as well as studio sessions in my [location]. This way you can choose whichever feels most comfortable for your family.

What if my baby is fussy or won’t sleep?

Don’t worry — I’m safety-trained, patient, and have nearly a decade of experience working with newborns. Breaks for feeding, snuggles, or diaper changes are completely normal. Sessions are baby-led, so we’ll move at their pace to keep things calm and relaxed.

Can siblings and parents be included in the session?

Absolutely! I encourage family portraits during your newborn session. Capturing the connection between siblings, parents, and baby is one of my favorite parts of telling your family’s story.

How long does a session last?

  • Wrapped mini sessions: about 60 minutes.

  • Full newborn sessions: typically 2–3 hours, allowing time for feedings, soothing, and multiple setups.

Do you provide props and outfits?

Yes! I provide a curated collection of wraps, props, headbands, and outfits in timeless colors and textures. If you’d like to include something sentimental (like a blanket, family heirloom, or wedding veil), I love including those in the session.

What should we wear for family photos?

Neutrals and soft tones (creams, beige, dusty pink, sage, or muted blues) photograph beautifully. I’ll send you a style guide to help coordinate outfits, and you’ll also have access to my client wardrobe if needed.
